DARK RED MERANTI

The timber is suitable for joinery, furniture, high class interior finishing, flooring, decking, panelling, partitioning, mouldings, skirtings, fancy doors, door and window frames and sills, staircase (angle blocks, rough bracket and tread), plywood, railway sleepers, posts, beams, joists, rafters, pallets (expendable type), vehicle bodies (framework, floor boards and planking), ship and boat building (keels, keelsons, framework and general planking), cooling tower (non structural members) and other light constructional works.

FINGER JOINT

This joint is a positive permanent strong joint when fixed using adhesive. The long length of glued area is very beneficial to the resulting strength. The in-line version is often used to produce a long length of timber / glued laminate from shorter lengths. The corner version is used for producing strong drawers boxes etc.The joint if made even stronger if the fingers are made using dovetail form

KEDONDONG (KDD)

KEDONDONG - The heartwood varies in colour from light yellow in Canarium apertum to yellow-green-brown in S. griffithii and S. rubiginosa to the common light red-brown and deep red-brown of the other species. The timber is a Light Hardwood with a density of 495-980 kg/m3 air dry and average density of 705 kg/m3 air dry. The timber is suitable as a general utility timber for posts, beams, joists, rafters, medium heavy structures, railway sleepers, vehicle bodies (framework and floor boards), planking, cladding, plywood, tool handles (non-impact), particleboard, flooring, furniture, packing boxes and crates as well as pallets (expendable and permanent light duty types).

KEMPAS

Kempas - This is a monospecific timber. The sapwood is white or pale yellow and is sharply defined from the heartwood, which is pinkish when fresh and darkens to bright orange-red or deep brown. The timber is a Medium Hardwood with a density of 770-1,120 kg/m3 air dry. It was reported that the material from Sabah and Sarawak is much denser than the material from Peninsular Malaysia.
The timber is suitable for joinery, furniture, high class interior finishing, flooring, decking, panelling, partitioning, mouldings, skirtings, fancy doors, door and window frames and sills, staircase (angle blocks, rough bracket and tread), plywood, railway sleepers, posts, beams, joists, rafters, pallets (expendable type), vehicle bodies (framework, floor boards and planking), ship and boat building (keels, keelsons, framework and general planking), cooling tower (non structural members) and other light constructional works.

KERUING

The sapwood is well-defined and grey-brown in colour. The heartwood is red-brown or purple-red weathering to a dark red-brown. Grain is straight to deeply interlocked. Texture is moderately coarse to coarse and even. Vessels are moderately large or very large with simple perforations, few or moderately few, exclusively solitary, evenly distributed but often with a tendency to arrangement in short oblique lines. Tyloses are abundant in some species.

 

Wood parenchyma is both apotracheal and paratracheal; apotracheal parenchyma as scattered or confluent patches containing vertical resin canals and in some species with diffuse strands or short tangential lines independent of resin canals; paratracheal parenchyma very sparse and as incomplete borders to the vessels but not always distinct with a hand lens.
Rays are of two distinct sizes, medium-sized rays distinct to the naked eye.
Vertical canals are as large as or larger than the vessels in some species. Arrangement diffuse or in short tangential lines containing two to seven canals in a series or very rarely in continuous tangential series. 

 

KERUING - It is a Medium Hardwood with a density of 690-945 kg/m3 air dry in Peninsular Malaysia, and with a density of 595-865 kg/m3 air dry for the species found in Sabah.Vessels are moderately large or very large with simple perforations, few or moderately few, exclusively solitary, evenly distributed but often with a tendency to arrangement in short oblique lines.

 

USES-Suitable for heavy and general building construction, bridges, harbour works, railway sleepers, transmission posts, framework of wagons and wagon flooring, container flooring and truck bodywork.

MERANTI (DUC)

MERANTI - The timber is suitable for joinery, furniture, high class interior finishing, flooring, decking, panelling, partitioning, mouldings, skirtings, fancy doors, door and window frames and sills, staircase (angle blocks, rough bracket and tread), plywood, railway sleepers, posts, beams, joists, rafters, pallets (expendable type), vehicle bodies (framework, floor boards and planking), ship and boat building (keels, keelsons, framework and general planking), cooling tower (non structural members) and other light constructional works
The timber is a Light Hardwood with a density of 415-885 kg/m3 air dry.

MIX HARDWOOD

MIXHARD WOOD : Hard miscellaneous wood usually derived from natural forest exploitation or plantations, diverse wood species name, but endure hardness, durability meet user requirements.

TIMBER MOULDINGS

Tongue and groove is a method of fitting similar objects together, edge to edge, used mainly with wood, in flooring, parquetry, panelling, and similar constructions. Tongue and groove joints allow two flat pieces to be joined strongly together to make a single flat surface. Before plywood became common, tongue and groove boards were also used for sheathing buildings and to construct concrete formwork.
